Design Technology

Children are taught to use a variety of tools and materials.  Through a wide variety of topics children design, make and evaluate their products. Technology projects can include cookery, 2D work with paper and card and 3D work with wood, card, clay, fabric and other materials. and food projects.

Religious Education

We plan our RE lessons using the North Yorkshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. A weekly RE lesson takes place in both classes encouraging respect and a basic understanding of the many different faiths found within the UK.

French is taught in the Junior class. We have worked closely with our local Secondary school to develop a scheme of work which helps pupils develop their confidence in both speaking & listening and reading & writing French.

Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship Education (PSHCE)

Through PSHCE sessions children are given the opportunity to develop their sense of place within the world. They are taught how to lead healthy, confident, independent lives. We provide children with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to become informed, active, tolerant and responsible individuals. Click here to see our PSHCE long term plan.
